Working in alignment with Clients

I find it helpful, during discussions with a new client, to have them discern whether they are in alignment with us and our way of working. We work only with extraordinary leaders. We have no ‘test’ to determine an extraordinary leader. Rather, we ask the new client to read this link, which is a list of what our clients value. If the new client has similar values, the alignment with us as their consultants is on a good foundation.

The client, when working with us, is not surprised along the way when we emphasize maximum participation in meetings, with the greatest mixture of the stakeholders in attendance in relation to what is appropriate for the situation, the circumstances, and the desired outcomes.  They are not surprised that we promote a culture of leadership. They are not surprised that we focus on the development of capacity along the way, including leadership capacity and relationship capacity to carry out the solutions that they create.

One Response to Working in alignment with Clients

  1. A brillant idea to deeply think of and create such an “alignment-list”.

This is like a list of givens to become successful together. Or the list which a CEO should create for the employees so that they know how to thrive in an organization.

I heart the following sentence from Esther Ewing about how a CEO can announce his givens: “Employees have the RIGHT to know how to succeed with me”. And I see here: “Our clients have the right to know right at the beginning how they can succeed with us” – right?
