I am currently in Belgium with Ward, leading our Leading and Acting from a New Level of Consciousness workshop at the 6th annual Genuine Contact Summer Academy. Yesterday, we completed day one of five days. There are 18 of us in the circle, just the right number for the space we have in an old castle. The setting is perfect for supporting our deep work here. The castle has been renovated to accommodate groups doing conferences here. The groups that come must be involved in doing something to improve things for humanity. We are treated with good food, heaped piles of Belgium chocolate on platters, a gentle atmosphere by the staff, and grounds to walk on. When walking the grounds, we can spend time with very old trees, two donkeys, a few swans, or wander a little further to the cows. Ward is excited by the moat, as he has longed to have an apartment in a castle that has a moat that he could fish right out of the windows.
The people in the circle with us are courageous, some are nervous, some curious, and all are committed to their personal shift in consciousness along with learning how to shift consciousness for others. Conversations around the workshop in the dining room dance with the topic of how much a shift in consciousness is needed this time for humanity to choose a more life nurturing direction for itself.
Personally, I think that if Belgium just sent platters of this amazing chocolate around the world and everyone could simply live in the bliss of this chocolate, the shift in consciousness would happen…simply.
By the afternoon, and well stuffed with chocolate, we went through some exercises to shift the focus of consciousness from the head to the heart. This can feel like a challenge to some people because they have become so focused in their head. We gave some tips for those who might feel a little stuck in shifting to heart consciousness. One tip was to imagine an elevator, currently stopped with the door open at the head, then the door closing, and making a descent to next open the door at the heart…and taking the ride down this elevator.
We all managed to shift our consciousness from our heads to our hearts. A funny thing happened then. Everyone was feeling so peaceful that there didn’t seem to be any way to move on to another exercise from our workbooks about shifting consciousness…so we went into our closing round for comments and ended early.
